The
Cider House
is a spacious one bedroomed gîte conveniently arranged on
the ground floor. As it is built on a slope, no two rooms are on
the same level, but the steps between them are no more than 2 –
3 inches high. Entering into an internal porch through a traditional
French “1½” door, a glazed door then leads into
the spacious and airy living/dining room that features a high, vaulted
and timbered ceiling which reaches almost to the apex of the roof. |
 |
The
window you can see in the photograph, above the French windows,
is incorporated into it. Twin sofas face one another across a coffee
table and, if you decide not to eat outside, the beautiful circular
table is an indoor alternative. A CD player is provided, as is a
selection of books and games.
Although a large room, the low, beamed ceiling of the double bedroom
gives it a quiet, restful feel. Aided by walls that have never even
heard of a spirit level, let alone seen one. And there is ample
room for a cot. Click this image to enlarge. |
The
bedroom furniture, like the furniture in the rest of the gîte,
is solid pine. The shower room is large, giving plenty of space
for enthusiastic drying! The fitted kitchen is well equipped with
a full size gas cooker with hood, ‘fridge, microwave, coffee
maker and a kettle. Lighting has been arranged above the tiled work
surfaces to ensure you are not working in your own light. |
A
washing machine for your exclusive use is in the Laundry Room, which
is in the big barn. To the front is a patio area with garden furniture.
You are invited to use all of our gardens. The Cider House
is double-glazed and centrally heated. Which will be of particular
interest to those guests who may prefer a holiday in the cooler
months. A cot, high chair and buggy are available free of charge
should you wish for one or more of them. |
